Can I Use Tire Chains On 2025 Ram 1500 RHO?

Updated 10/24/2025 | Published 10/20/2025

Question:

2025 Ram 1500 RHO Owners manual says the RHO is unchainable, in California we are required to carry chains in the snow, has anybody used Class S cables on this truck with stock tires and wheels LT325/65R18 . Will they get in the way of the brake lines, snow socks will not be legal in R3 conditions. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Scott, thanks for reaching out. We do carry tire chains that fit the LT325/65R18 tires BUT if your owners manual says not to use chains, I really cannot recommend installing and using chains. It could cause damage to brake lines or other components in the wheel well or in some cases is can mess with ABS or EPS systems. You could end up causing non-warranty damage to your new truck and I would not want to set you up for that possibility. There is a chance a class S chain like the Konig # TH2004565767 could work since they create zero interference behind the wheel, but this is not something we have tested. They would physically fit your tires, but I can't guarantee they would not cause damage. I would have to recommend sticking with whatever the owner's manual says.

@Scott Glad to help! They Konig chains are fantastic. Super easy to install and the traction is actually really good. If you need to have something in the car to be legal they will absolutely do that job. You will just want to be really careful and be aware of your wheel well clearance.
