Question:

Hello, I was wondering if you could put together a complete parts list to flat tow my 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 with 18 standard rim/tire set behind our 2018 Bounder 35k. Im looking for good quality parts but nothing exotic that I could possibly install as a DIYer...lol Also, Ive heard Demco baseplates require the least front bumper mods since it does have front parking sensors from the factory. Please advise and have a great day.

The Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # DM9519341 will be the easiest to install out of all the base plates we currently have for your 2025 Ram 1500. It does require the least amount of modifications as well, so it does sound like the one you are looking for. It will also match really nicely with the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 10,500 lbs # e94ZR, which has plenty of capacity to handle your truck.

For the wiring, you will want the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267. Roadmaster makes the best wiring in the business and it will be the most reliable option out there. It's a bit of work to get it installed, but not too bad.

The last thing you will need is a braking system. For a portable option, it's pretty hard to beat the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Proportional # BLU37TR. It's easy to use and set up, but you will also need the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332 to power it. This wires directly to your battery and is a very easy part to add on. If you prefer a permanently installed set up, I recommend the Demco Air Force One # DM26VR if your RV has air brakes or the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251 if your RV has hydraulic brakes. These are pretty involved for the install, but it's definitely something an experienced DIYer can do.
