Question:

Is the kuat hitch reducer weight rated to work with a single dirt bike motorcycle hitch rack? Moto hitch rack rating 385 lbs and does not have the hitch cam or ball cam system. If not what 2.5 to 2 inch set up would you recommend for the 385lb. Moto hitch rack? Thanks!

Hello Eric,

The Kuat Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" Hitch - 6-1/4" Long # KU93VR doesn't have a set weight rating, it would definitely be able to handle the Moto Hitch Rack with your dirt bike no problem! It is just steel inside of steel to make the square a little smaller, so none of them really have a weight rating.

You could really go with any reducer, if you wanted to save a couple of bucks you could go with our Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # e26YR.

We also have the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long - 500 lbs # UF48-979033 which would be great for your set-up as well.

Do you already have the Moto Rack? How do you like it?

Hey Eric, how did the Kuat hitch reducer work out with your Moto Hitch Rack and dirt bike? Your feedback could really help others trying to carry similar loads. Sharing what you found would be a big help to the next rider setting up their rack.

@KateF Thanks for the feedback Kate. I have the Ultimate mx hauler for the dirt bike and the kuat NV 2.0 for the mtb's. i have a standard 2 1/2 to 2 reducer like the e26yr, but there is no flange or magnet to hold it in place which can get a little aggravating at times. Looking for a nice flanged, possibly magnetic reducer to purchase. Thanks for your feedback.

@EricR Got it Eric. I was actually just hanging out with Kuat this last weekend at an Outdoor Expo near my house, can't go wrong with their racks, and they will take care of you for life! I just looked up the Ultimate MX Hauler and the original part in question, the Kuat Magnetic Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" Hitch - 6-1/4" Long # KU93VR would be a great addition for you =)
