Protecting ATV Wiring in Seasonal Storage Since Mice Keep Chewing Wires - Safe For Pets

Published 09/22/2025

Question:

I’ve had trouble with mice chewing wires on my Polaris ATV when it sits in our pole barn. Just got done rewiring the ignition switch! Would the Classic MB44FR keep them out of the wiring? is it safe for dog?

Dang I'm sorry to hear that. But yes, Hunter, the Classic # MB44FR is perfect for ATV engine compartments. It draws so little power from the battery you won’t even notice, and the ultrasonic waves keep rodents from making a nest. If the pole barn itself is large and open, you could supplement with a 360x # MB64FR to cover the whole space.

Do you keep the ATV on a trickle charger, or does it just sit between rides?

And yes they are safe for pets since they emit a frequency that doesn't affect them. That said, rodent sized pets (sorry if you have one) like ferrets, rabbits, gerbils, hamsters, etc. WILL be affected if in the area.
