Features to know about

For Engine Bays and Small Storage Compartments

The MouseBlocker Classic helps discourage mice from turning your vehicle into their nesting spot. It's a great fit for motorcycles, snowmobiles, mowers, ATVs, and jet skis. Many RV owners and dealers also install multiple units throughout a camper or motorhome to help protect different areas. Its compact size fits easily into engine compartments, battery boxes, and other enclosed spaces where rodents like to hide. Designed for vehicles and equipment that sit unused for several days at a time, it runs quietly off your 12V battery without draining it.

How It Works

This unit emits a steady ultrasonic sound at 85 dB, helping discourage rodents from nesting in tight, enclosed spaces. To a mouse, it's like blasting a hairdryer next to its head, but because the sound is at a frequency humans can't hear, you won't notice a thing. The Classic runs continuously, shifting between frequencies of 25 to 45 kHz. This intermittant pattern helps keep mice from getting used to a single, constant frequency. And this doesn't take a lot of power to run. Just connect it to a 12V battery and it only consumes 0.1 watts, which is about the same as your TV remote in standby mode, so it won't interfere with your vehicle's power system. The Mouseblocker Classic housing is built to handle engine bay temperatures, vibration, and moisture, so you can leave it installed without worry while your vehicle or equipment sits unused.

Installation Tips

Mount the unit in an enclosed area like an engine bay, under-seat storage box, or equipment compartment. It works best when placed near wiring or insulation rodents may be tempted to chew. Its size makes it easy to tuck out of sight, and the simple 2- or 3-wire hookup connects directly to your 12V power system.

Installed this 5 weeks ago in my boat to one 12v trolling motor battery...still working with no charger attached. I have a 24v system, so I'm hooking up the batteries in parallel hoping this will get me thru the winter without mouse issues. I have a lot of traps and other deterrents, but they are persistent little buggers... Also have the other model installed in the same boat...

Have had this installed in my 5th wheel now for a few months and mouse problem resolved. Will be getting another one for under the hood of my truck. must say these things work.

  • Recommended MouseBlocker Deterrent Systems for Protecting Stored Cars
Yes, you do Fred. You're definitely going to want to use two of the MouseBlocker Classic Electronic Rodent Deterrent item # MB44FR in your Challenger. This will keep them out of both areas of your car. They each pull 0.1 watts so you'll want to start your Challenger and let run every couple of months depending on what size battery you have. As far as your garage goes, you could install the MouseBlocker Classic Electronic Rodent Deterrent item # MB44FR in your vehicles but I recommend...

  • How to Find a Switched Ignition Source for a MouseBlocker Classic Electronic Rodent Deterrent
Hey Bruce. You'll want to connect the grey wire on the MouseBlocker Classic Electronic Rodent Deterrent item # MB44FR to something that's only one when your RAV4 or Maverick are running. Check the fuse boxes for a radio, USB, tail light circuit. Something along those lines and see if there's a way to attach the clamp to one of those circuits. Those hybrids can be pretty complicated electrically. If you're unsure you can always go to the product page of the MouseBlocker item # MB44FR you...

  • Can MouseBlocker Classic Electronic Rodent Deterrent # MB44FR Be Used with Chevy Bolt EUV
Hey Brenda, I did some checking and your 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV does have a 12 volt battery that powers the low voltage systems which means you can use the MouseBlocker Classic Electronic Rodent Deterrent # MB44FR as that is what it is designed to be powered by. Do you have a pretty bad rodent problem?

  • Using Multiple MouseBlockers in a Fifth Wheel RV To Prevent Pests From Entering
Janice, a single # MB34FR plug-in covers about 400 sq. ft., which is enough for one section of your Montana. Because sound waves don’t pass through walls and cabinets, many RV owners install two units - one up front near the bedroom and another in the living/kitchen area - for full coverage. If you’ve got basement storage, a Classic # MB44FR tied to the battery is a smart add-on too. Do you want full-coach coverage or just the living area?

  • How To Deter Pests And Rodents For Long-Term Vehicle Storage Without Battery Maintainer
Carl, exactly. The Pro # MB94FR works best when the vehicle battery is maintained or charged at least every week or two. For long-term storage without a maintainer, the plug-in # MB34FR is safer - it runs continuously off a 110V outlet and doesn’t risk draining your Jeep’s battery. Do you have access to power in your storage spot, or is it totally off-grid? If you don't have power outlet at all, the lowest wattage unit that runs off your Jeep's 12v battery is the classic # MB44FR, using...

  • Protecting RV Interior From Rats And Mice During Summer Storage in Arizona
Linda, since you won’t have power available, the 12V Classic # MB44FR is the simple way to go - it wires to your trailer battery and uses almost no draw (0.1 watts). If you also want flashing LEDs as a second deterrent, the Pro # MB94FR is a nice upgrade, but it pulls a bit more power (0.6 watts). Some RV owners even run multiple Classics # MB44FR in different compartments for added coverage. Do you typically leave your Cougar’s batteries connected while in storage, or do you disconnect them?

  • Protecting ATV Wiring in Seasonal Storage Since Mice Keep Chewing Wires - Safe For Pets
Dang I'm sorry to hear that. But yes, Hunter, the Classic # MB44FR is perfect for ATV engine compartments. It draws so little power from the battery you won’t even notice, and the ultrasonic waves keep rodents from making a nest. If the pole barn itself is large and open, you could supplement with a 360x # MB64FR to cover the whole space. Do you keep the ATV on a trickle charger, or does it just sit between rides? And yes they are safe for pets since they emit a frequency that doesn't...

  • Mice Getting Into Basement Compartment Of 2021 Grand Design Reflection Fifth Wheel RV
Lisa, the basement is a perfect spot for the Classic # MB44FR. It tucks right into that enclosed space, wires to the 12V system, and keeps rodents away from wiring, insulation, and stored gear. It also draws such low wattage (.1w) that your battery system won't even notice it's there. Some RVers also add a plug-in # MB34FR inside the living space if they’ve got shore power, for whole-coach coverage. Do you usually keep the Reflection plugged in during storage?

  • Best Rodent Deterrent for Classic Car Stored Indoors
Tim, either will work, but here’s the difference: the Classic # MB44FR wires right to the Mustang’s 12V battery and protects the engine bay specifically. The plug-in # MB34FR, on the other hand, treats the whole garage space as long as it’s enclosed and under 400 sq. ft. A lot of classic car guys run both - one in the car, one in the garage. Do you keep your Mustang’s battery connected in storage, or do you normally disconnect it? Any other car collectors here run MouseBlockers?

Nancy, the plug-in # MB34FR will discourage rodents from hanging out in the garage overall. But if you want to specifically guard the snowblower, the Classic # MB44FR wired to its 12v battery is more direct protection. Many folks do both - one plug-in for the space, one Classic on key equipment. Do you keep other power tools in the same garage?

  • Using MouseBlocker Electronic Pest Control In A Hybrid Vehicle - Prius
Dave, you’re right - hybrids and EVs can be prime targets because of their quiet engine bays. The Classic # MB44FR is a great choice for a Prius it wires directly to the 12V system yes, even hybrids have a 12V auxiliary battery and uses almost no draw. If you want extra deterrence, the Pro # MB94FR adds flashing LEDs, although this one draws slightly more power so I'd recommend keeping the car on a maintainer or solar charger for this one. Do you typically store the Prius for long stretches,...

Kevin, if you’ve got access to shore power while your Jayco’s parked, the plug-in # MB34FR is the easy choice - just plug it into a standard outlet inside the camper, and you’re protected. If you store off-grid without power, the Classic # MB44FR can be wired to the trailer’s 12V battery system instead. Both use ultrasonic waves that bounce around the interior and keep mice from getting comfortable. Do you normally have your camper plugged in when it’s in storage, or is it off the grid?...

  • Mice Chewing Wiring On John Deere Tractor In Shed - Electronic 12v Solution
Dale, if the tractor itself is what you’re protecting, I’d recommend mounting a Classic # MB44FR right in the engine bay. That way the ultrasonic signal stays close to the wiring and insulation mice love to chew. If you want to treat the entire shed space, the 360x # MB64FR is better - it’s weather-resistant and built for barns and sheds. Do you normally just want the tractor protected, or the whole shed?

If there are partitions, tool benches, or walls breaking up the space, two units might be more effective. Pairing a Classic # MB44FR inside each vehicle is a popular extra layer of defense too. Are your sleds stored side by side, or in different parts of the shed?
