Troubleshooting New RV AC Unit Where Compressor Goes Off and On

Question:

Installed new unit, seemed to work good for about a week, then started having trouble. Comes on then compressor starts coming on and off at intervals but doesnt keep running and doesnt get cold. But blower continues to run.

Hey Mark, did you happen to install an Advent upper unit onto a different brand lower air distribution box? What you described sounds like the issues commonly associated with that when that goes wrong.

Yes, but everything worked well for about a week then it started cycling abnormally, so what would cause that?

@MarkG Problem is most likely related to fact new AC units after January 2025 are designed for a different refrigerant than what older setups were so they won't work. What you will need is a new air distribution box like the part # ADV48SR if this is a non ducted setup or part # ADV98SR if it is ducted.
