Replacing Furnace In 1992 Cobar 5th Wheel With Suburban SF-30F Rv Furnace
Published 09/08/2025 >
Question:
I’ve got a 1992 Cobra fifth wheel with a Suburban SF-30F that finally gave up. Would the Fogatti Quiet Furnace FG55FR fit in that space, or am I looking at a lot of modifications? I have a vent for intake and exahust on side of camper, but not a service door

Carl, you’re on the right track. The Fogatti Quiet Furnace # FG55FR is a solid replacement for your SF-30F. The dimensions are pretty close - 18 inch deep x 8 inch tall x 22 inch wide versus your Suburban’s 20.25” x 7.6” x 17.75”. You’ll likely need to adjust the cutout slightly, but the ventilation layout is nearly identical as this is pretty standard, so it won’t be a major headache. The Fogatti runs at 35,000 BTUs, with multiple heating modes to give you flexibility on milder days.
Did your old furnace feed into a ducted setup or was it more direct? That will help us fine-tune your install plan.
