Solution for Atwood Landing Gear Leg Needing Replacement

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/01/2025

Question:

I have 2010 Jayco 5th wheel with an Atwood landing gear system. The lead leg failed and I am having a hard time locating a replacement. The dimensions are as follows. the tube itself is 2 1/2inch the length of the outer tube is 36 1/2 inches. the distance between the bottom of the top brace and the top of the bottom brace is 15 1/2 inches. From the top of the top to the bottom of the bottom brace is 17 1/2 inches. what is the best way to do this?

Hey Vince, Atwood is no longer in the RV jack business so there isn't a way to get any replacement components so the only solution would be an all new landing gear set like the # LG-4 which uses same mounting bracket dimension.

Hey Vince, did you end up going with the new landing gear set for your Jayco? I'm curious to know if it worked out for you, as it could help others facing the same issue.

No because my landing gear outer tube is 361/2 inches long and the braces are 15. 1/2 inches. Cannot find a match

@VinceC Is welding on new brackets an option?
