What Size Hitch is Available for 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid

Question:

I have a 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid. I would like a Class II hitch if available. Your catalog says your class II excludes Hybrid. However, your class III hitch both with and without have the same code number. Will the Class II hitch work with the hybrid?

Hey Dave, I know it looks like the Draw Tite hitch you referenced would work on a hybrid model but we had a customer with a hybrid model come back and specifically tell us it didn't work on their hybrid because of the bracket shape so your only option would be a Class III hitch like the Curt # C23FR that you referenced.

@JamesonC I am not sure why Matthew had trouble fitting the bolts provided with the hitch. Per the instructions, I enlarged the forward holes in order to install the back-up bars that accommodate the square of the carriage bolts and the bolts themselves. Instead of lifting the hitch up to the frame to mark the required enlargement, I made a template off the hitch and used that to locate and transfer the pattern onto the frame. This worked fine and eliminated having to dummy the hitch up to the frame just to transfer the required slot. That just seemed like a lot of heavy, awkward work and at 71yrs, I try to manage hard work.
