Hi Jim!

There is indeed a spare tire and mount for the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with Post Style Carrier for 4 Kayaks - 400 lbs # MAL63FR. Check out the Spare Tire for Malone EcoLight Trailer - Locking Attachment # MAL33FR. This will sit flat on the tongue and is a direct add-on from Malone. But it is a bit on the expensive side.

If you have the room for it, I would go with the following two parts:

CE Smith Offset Spare Tire Mount - Galvanized Steel - 4- and 5-Lug Wheels # CE27310G
Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM30070

This would be less expensive, but the tire does have a lower speed rating of 65 mph. If you are just using it as a spare though and have enough room with your kayaks loaded, I don't think that would be an issue for me.

Speaking of which, what kind of kayaks are you loading?

Thanks for the info . That helps a lot. I have a 2 11 foot leisure life I believe and a 1r f00t pelican tamden. I do have another question, do you have a utility trailer that I cou.d haul my lawn tractor and then out a kayak carrier to that? Thanks Jim

@JimD Those are pretty cool! Do you use them for fishing? As to your question, most of the trailers we carry are going to be for kayaks or what they call roof racks on wheels. We do have the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer - 7-1/2' Long - 1,640 lbs # K2MMT5X7, but I don't think it would really work. This will sound weird, but if I were doing something like this, I would grab the 5' x 10' Harbor Freight trailer and the top rail system to go with it. You could then add something like the Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack for Pop-Up Campers and Camper Shells - Steel - 7' Long - 150 lbs # S80510 to those rails on the trailer. The crossbars slide in and out pretty easily, so it would be quick and easy to convert it to have the rack or be a regular open trailer. They don't have a whole lot of capacity, but it should give you a starting point for ideas. : )
