Recommended Maintenance and Repair on a Nighthawk Tow Bar

Updated 09/06/2025 | Published 08/03/2025

Question:

I have had my Roadmaster Nighthawk 8,000 lbs for about four years and it has worked pretty well overall. However, the arms no longer stay raised when I lock them in. Instead, they immediately want to fall over. I have read the manuals and searched the internet for how to fix this but havent found the solution. I keep the system under the Roadmaster cover when not in use and maintain it with the Roadmaster cleaner and lubricant. I suspect that something may need to be tightened torqued? but cannot find anything that speaks to it. Can I get some expert help? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Chris. If you've gone through the maintenance steps in the manual for your Nighthawk Tow Bar item # RM-676, I recommend reaching out to Roadmaster directly. They've got a great support staff that goes around to trade shows and rally's that do free maintenance and repairs.
