Today we're going to take a look at the replacement horizontal bolt for the Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bars. Now this bolt will connect the yolk of the Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar to the shank assembly that inserts into your hitch receiver. This is a grade five bolt. The size on it is three quarter inch diameter. The length on it, it's right at four inches. And the jam nut that's to be used with this bolt is sold separately.
It's part number RM350264-10 and it's listed on this product page as a related product and this part is for quantity of one horizontal boat, but that should do it for the review on the replacement horizontal bolt for the Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bars.
I received the correct bolt. Actual bolt that was installed new had too many threads which had more wear than normal. New bolt has about 3/4" thread on end which is all that is needed.

This bolt had threads on the bearing surface, not OK. I reported it to trailer with little concern expressed on their part. I also reported it to Roadmaster, also little concerned. Searching, the correct bolt is apparently not made anymore. So corporations being what they are, the engineering issue was just ignored - a money thing. FYI, you can get a longer bolt that has a blank bearing surface and the length is not an interference.

Great bolt, but not similar to the one I ruined trying to get the nut off. That one had threads only 1/2 inch long on the end of the original bolt. Hope it works.
