Replacement Bearings, Brake Pads, and Rotors for Dump Trailer With 7k Axles

Updated 09/07/2025 | Published 08/01/2025

Question:

I bought a dump trailer about a year ago and I would like to do some maintenance. Would you be able to tell me what seals, bearings, dust caps, brake pads, and rotors that I need based on the axle capacity and brand? 7k axles with Kodiak EOH disc brakes

Hi Trevor; if you have 9/16" bolts you need the Kodiak 13" Hub and Rotor # KHR1389D with bearing kit # DX38ER. For 1/2" bolts you need the # KRH1378D with bearing kit # BK3-200. Both can use the Replacement Grease Cap # KPCAP. The replacement brake pads are the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads - 7,000 lbs to 8,000 lbs # K250CP or if you want the stainless steel back # K250CP-SS.

What do you use your dump trailer for?

Hi Trevor, how did the maintenance on your dump trailer go with the parts we discussed? I'm curious to know if everything fit well and worked as expected, as it might help others with similar trailers.

@RobinH Yes everything worked perfectly. I would have ended up with the wrong parts if you hadn't given me the information that I needed. Thanks again! Also, next time I would like to convert to an oil bath set up. Which parts would I need for that?

@TrevorT either of those hub and rotor setups can work with oil with the same cap. You just have to make sure you get all of the grease cleaned out first.

@RobinH Oh wow. So just to clarify, I can use the seal and dust cap that is designed for grease? I thought I needed the thread in cap?
