Video Transcript for Kodiak Trailer Brakes K250CP-SS Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the Kodiac Ceramic Brake Pads with the stainless steel backing for 7,000, 8,000 pound calipers. Now this will provide superior performance for consistent braking. They are designed to withstand high temperatures without becoming soft or worn, and they'll last longer than the organic or semi-metallic pads. They do resist corrosion, carbon ceramic will withstand 196 hour salt spray test. And the backing plate on these are a stainless steel. They will produce less dust than the NAO, which is the non asbestoses organic, or the semi-metallic models. So you notice the edges right here, they are tampered and that's to prevent squeal.

These will last up to twice as long as your traditional organic pads, and this is for a quantity of four pieces. So this will replace brake pads on two disc brake assemblies. These are made in the USA, and again the specs these are designed to fit a caliper that's rated for 7,000 to 8,000 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the Kodiac Ceramic Brake Pads with the stainless steel backs for 7,000 to 8,000 pound calipers.

Just what I needed for my boat trailer. Not sure why but the rubber seal failed and cracked on one of my calipers after about three years and the salt water froze it up. This seemed a reasonable price and quick shipping for a replacement. I should have noticed but didn't that a set of shoes actually comes with it, so for me that was a bonus. 422098

These Kodiac stainless steel disc brakes are great. They are expensive but well worth it if you launch your boat in salt water. I tow a 32ft boat and brakes are mandatory to tow it safely. Other brakes were a constant problem. I've had these three years and changed the pads once, otherwise maintenance free. 337385

I converted my rusty old drum brakes on my saltwater boat trailer to the Kodiak stainless steel disc brakes several years ago. It eliminates all the brake problems of stuck wheel cylinders, seized adjusters, and broken brake shoe Springs. The only thing I have had to replace over the last 5 years was brake pads, which I can monitor the wear without disassembly. 321882
