Question:
Good morning! I am looking for a trailer wiring connection for a 2011 Ford Expedition EL that does not appear to have a factory quick connection, so this will be a wiring job. The trailer connector is a 7-way male for a pop-up camper. Do not need a brake controller. Any technical advice and guidance will be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Kevin, thanks for reaching out. I do have a solution for you, but as you hinted at, there sadly are no custom fit wiring options for the 2011 Ford Expedition EL without the factory tow connection. We do have universal wiring kits that can be used. If you need to add a 7-way, here is what you will need:
- Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236
- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7
These two kits combined have everything you need to add a 4-flat and 7-way to your Expedition. That includes all of the necessary wires for a brake controller. This is required for any trailer with electric brakes.
Do you already have a brake controller? Or does the trailer have a 7-way but doesn't actually have brakes?
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
