Hello everybody. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our towing kit with included ball mount and trailer wiring for The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver with a two inch ball. Now folks, this is a custom fit application, so I want you to verify the fit guide here at etrailer.com's homepage up into the top center where it says something like my vehicle or vehicle fitment, enter things like your make and model, submodels, those kind of things, and make sure you get the right parts the first time please. Now folks, this complete kit will let you use your Stealth Hitch Rack Receiver that you should already have for towing. It's got a detachable ball mount here.
This will lock up in place in place of that hitch receiver attachment that came with your stealth hitch. Now that's gonna securely mount and attach to that hitch cross tube to eliminate rattle and play. Now they included balls and provide that connection point for your trailer balls coupler. Again, a two inch ball, this is rated up to 8,000 pounds max gross trailer weight. It is not to be used for weight distribution, so don't use it for weight distribution.
And from the ground to the top of the ball when you're using it with hitch number SH37FR, it would be 18 inches from the ground to the top of the ball. Now from the center of this locking lug to the center of the ball is 10 inches. The total length is 13 inches long and the base thickness here is three quarters of an inch thick and the ball shank is one inch in diameter. Now with this kit you're gonna get the safety tie down, chain anchors, you're gonna get the locking nuts for those, the electrical connectors, bolts, nuts, a butt connector, another electrical connector here, and you're gonna get some double sided adhesive that's gonna go on the bottom side and help hold this modulator for all the wiring in place in the rear of your vehicle. And you're gonna have all the wiring needed to run all the way to the vehicle's battery and make that connection for electrical.
They give you another length of wire here, lots of cable ties, the seven way connector, and plug these two made up, obviously there's a nice little notch up here and one of the lid that kind of married together. And when you put those together, they lock in place. Now you can't undo it unless you lift the tab up here of the cap to pull back out. On the backside, you're gonna get a four-way or four flat style connector, and that's typically what you're gonna probably have on your trailer most likely. But if not, you got both of 'em and you got the mounting bracket here to mount that connector at the rear of the vehicle.
Well folks, that is gonna wrap it up. Everything here has been black powder coated on the finish to prevent rust and corrosion. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

the longer bolts weren't included. used original bolts even though a tad short. contacted etrailer and no response couple days later.
The Stealth Hitch is a great option if you want to keep your rear end looking clean. This kit allows you to add towing ability to an already installed Stealth Hitch Rack Receiver. I added this to a 2020 Volvo XC90. You do need to remove the bumper fascia which, with the excellent videos on this site, was not very difficult. I was able to complete the project in a couple of hours.
***Note*** Stealth changed the size of the bolts holding the hitch block to the bar (from 1/2” to 5/8”) in 2021. Since I had installed my receiver rack in 2020, the included, longer bolts that you need to use to install the chain hooks did not fit. I contacted Stealth and they sent me a new kit with the smaller bolts, chain hooks, and (nicer) bracket to mount the connector to the hitch - no charge. It took about a week to get them so plan accordingly so you’re not stuck with your bumper fascia lying on the ground, not able to complete the job. I ran to the hardware store to grab some temporary bolts so I could get everything back together until the correct bolts came. I’m hoping I can change out the correct bolts without having to remove the bumper fascia again.
