Question:
Hi, Why would the 24878 (made for hatchback model) NOT fit on my sedan Sonic? The frame seems to be made the same. Thanks!

Hey Zach. The frames not the issue with the Draw-Tite item # 24878 hitch not fitting the 2013 Chevy Sonic sedan. The issue is the muffler on the sedan is completely different than the hatchback's so there's a mounting bracket in the way and the hitch arcs differently over the exhaust.
Since you have the sedan model of 2013 Chevy Sonic, you'll need the Curt Hitch item # C11240. This 1-1/4" hitch is identical in capacity and only fits the sedan models.
I attached a couple pictures below so you can see the difference in the mufflers and the hitches.
What are you planning on using a hitch for?

Thanks for the reply! I plan on towing motorcycle on a motorycle trailer so 2000 lbs should be fine. I also saw the Drawtite 24876 online, which is specified for Sonic sedans! What’s surprinsing to me is that the 24876 has only one hole on each side to the frame, and the other one is into the bumper bracket. It is specified to be a class 1 also, but I doubt about the rigidity. Price is about 100$ cheaper tho, so there’s that.
