1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today we're gonna take a look at the Triangle 215/75 R 17.5 Radial Tire in a Load Range H, and it's mounted on a 17 and a half inch Silver Solid Center Steel Trailer Wheel with an offset and an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly is designed for use on heavy duty trailers. The wheel is a heavy duty wheel. It's sturdy steel construction.
You can see it has a solid center design to it, and it offers excellent corrosion resistance. Uses a silver powder coat finish over an e-coat primer on the front, and even on the back of the wheel. Now this wheel is a hub piloted wheel. It has a pilot hole here with a dimmer of 4.76 inches, and it centers exactly onto the hub of your trailer. So basically when you go to install this, you'll put it up to the hub.
This will slide exactly over there and it centers on this pilot hole. So your studs will come through these holes and you put your lug nuts on there. But if you notice, the bolt holes here are non-chamfered. There's no bevel to 'em. That's because you're gonna need to use the five eights inch by 18 sides flange nuts for installation.
We do sell those separately on our website. Now this wheel does off also come with a half inch negative offset. It means that the wheel will move the tire and wheel assembly away from the trailer frame, but basically what the offset is is it's measured the mounting surface of the wheel right here. When that is straight exactly in the middle of the wheel, that's a zero starting point. And if that mounting surface is moved to the outside of the wheel, that's a positive offset.
If it moves to the back of the wheel, that's a negative offset. In this case, it's a half inch negative to the back, which in turn will move the tire and wheel away from the trailer frame. Now the diameter on the wheel, 17 and a half inches. The width, six and three quarter inches wide. The bolt pattern on this wheel is a eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's an even number of lugs, in this case, eight, it's pretty easy because the lug holes you can see are directly across from each other. So just pick any hole, let's say this one. Measure from the center of it to the center of the hole directly across from it, it'll measure six and a half inches. So it's an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Weight capacity on just the wheel is 6,005 pounds. Now the tire that's mounted on this wheel is a premium multi-use steer and all position radial tire. It is constructed with all steel belts to enhance durability and extend the tread life. If you notice, if we turn it this way, you'll be able to see it has a wide shoulders to promote even wear and better traction, and it uses an enhanced casing package that'll help improve toughness and retread ability. The tire size, which is stamped on the sidewall, 215/75 R 17.5. The R means that it is a radial tire. The section width, 8.3 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated, it's 30.2 inches. And this tire is a load range H, which means it's a 16 ply rated tire. So it has a maximum load capacity of 4,805 pounds at 125 PSI. And the last thing is the speed rating. They do put a speed rating on the tire and it's stamped on the sidewall with a letter designation. And where you'll find it is right after the tire size we went over. There's two numbers for the load index, and then the letter L. Speed rating L will mean a 75 mile per hour speed rating. But that's gonna do it for a look at the Triangle 215/75 R 17.5 Radial Tire in a Load Range H on a 17 and a half inch Silver Solid Center Steel Trailer Wheel.

Seems like decent quality but the wheel arrived with several areas of chipping paint. I’m not super satisfied that I have to repaint a brand new wheel.
Tire/rim came as advertised. Was quick shipment. It did have a few chips on the rim edge, going to assume it was due to shipping company. Seems to be a very heavy duty tire. We will see how well it wears. Overall super satisfied for the price and delivered to my door. A++
