Features to know about

Built for Everyday Towing and Hauling: Class I, 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver

This Curt hitch is made for light-duty towing and everyday utility. With a 2,000-lb maximum gross trailer weight and 200-lb tongue weight rating, it’s right at home pulling a small trailer, mounting a bike rack, or carrying a cargo basket. The sturdy square-tube design gives you dependable strength without adding bulk, and the 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver works with most Class I accessories made for lighter vehicles and smaller loads.

Handles the Job Without the Hassle: Bolt-On Installation with Included Hardware

Installing this hitch doesn’t require welding or special tools. Its vehicle-specific design uses factory mounting points for a precise fit, and all the necessary hardware is included—carriage bolts, flange nuts, spacers, and a pull wire. Once it’s bolted up and torqued to spec, you’re ready to load up your gear and hit the road without extra fabrication or modifications.

Built to Last Through the Seasons: Gloss Black Powder Coat over Protective Base Coat

The fully welded steel construction is finished with a gloss black powder coat laid over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance. This dual finish helps the hitch hold up against road grime and moisture while keeping its clean look over time. The concealed cross-tube style keeps most of the hitch tucked up under the bumper for a cleaner appearance once installed.

Designed for Versatility: Works with Drawbar, Pin, and Clip (Sold Separately)

You can set it up for towing or cargo use depending on what you need that day. Pair it with a compatible drawbar and pin and clip (sold separately) to tow small trailers or attach Class I accessories like cargo carriers and two-bike racks within the 200-lb tongue weight limit. The receiver’s standard dimensions make accessory changes simple, so it’s ready whenever you are.

Took 20 minuets to install, no jack necessary, very easy and straight forward.  Used for hitch mounted bike rack. U Haul wanted $280 to supply and install hitch.

by:

Wow! I received the trailer hitch the day after I ordered it. I watched the video on installation. I thought there was no way it could be that easy. My 6 year old daughter and I installed the hitch onto my 2013 Chevy Cruise. I timed it and it took 8:32. In less that ten minutes I drove it off my wheel ramps. Amazing.

by:

I purchased this trailer hitch for my 2014 Chevy Cruze. The instructions claimed the installation time would take 15 minutes, and they were not lying. Could not have been easier. Definitely recommend!

by:

After reviewing the super video for this unit on my car I ordered and installed it with no problems.
A very minor discrepancy was that the printed instructions called for a 3/4" socket but the parts are 7/16" nuts -- no big deal.
This is for a Chevy Cruze and is to be used to carry bikes. The easiest way to handle bikes.
I would definitely go with etrailer.com again.

Great product. I didn't have a lift for the car, so fishing the bolts through was a little tough around the muffler. (There was a brace in the way so the muffler didn't drop down to much on my 2012 Verano.) Once that the bolts were fished through though, it only took about 10 minutes to get it bolted on and it looks great. Will definitely tell people looking to buy a hitch about this.

by:

Service was amazing what i wanted is what i got. would definitely recommend etrailer to anyone, very satisfied with my Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver.

by:

The hitch receiver for my Chevy Cruze (C11282) has a nice finish, appears to be very well made, (Nice welds and heavy duty material) is surely a great quality product, which will probably outlast my car! The installation was easy, only took about 20 minutes, and I didn't even have to lower my exhaust as the directions suggested. Very happy with my new hitch receiver and it works great with my bike rack.

by:

The hitch installed very easily. I used a floor jack to hold it up, after I fished the bolt/plates into the frame. Made it much easier than trying to bench-pressing the hitch while trying to install the nuts... Very well made hitch, will hold my bike rack perfectly!

by:

I purchased the C11282 hitch receiver, hitch bar, and wiring kit that all was perfectly matched to the '14 Chevy Cruze. I already installed the package after watching with the concise on-line video instructions. Great product, instructions, easy installation, and rapid standard shipping.

I considered purchasing the hitch package from a local brick and mortar store but decided on etrailer.com to insure all the parts were matched for my car.

by:

Receiver Hitch fit the 2014 Cruze with no modifications. Took about 30 minutes to install. The nifty bolt installation tool (fish wire) was excellent. It is used with a bike carrier and a basket carrier for my brother's fishing gear.

by:

Etrailers products always exceed my needs. I have used them for my past 3 trailer set ups and will continue to use them. Their customer service is excellent. The trailers hitches are so easy to install too! 10/10 would definitely recommend.

by:

Built will nice, got it fast and was easy to install. Will order again when I need a hitch

etrailer.com is one of the best internet sellers! I have purchased several trailer hitches, wiring harnesses and other miscellaneous products over the years, and they are always prompt, courteous and accurate with their information. The hitch I recently purchased arrived on time, and everything I needed was in the box. Following the installation instructions I was able to install the hitch in less than 15 minutes, without help. As always, the fit was perfect and the installation went off without a hitch! Sorry, I couldn't resist!!!!

by:

I have had this hitch on the car for a couple of years now and have had 0 issues. Has held up very well. I normally attach a 2 bike rack and have never worried about it falling off. If you are installing yourself make sure to set aside extra time during the install. Installation took 2 hours longer then I had planned.

by:

2012 Chevy cruze wiring harness hooked up very easily shipping was extremely fast. Also ordered the Reese hitch. Exact fit. Thanks etrailer

by:

Very easy to install, just like the video showed. installed in about 30 minutes. quality of the welding looks good.

by:

Nice product. Fits like a glove with the install time around 15 minutes.Excellent service from etrailer.

by:

Great products and really easy to follow installation instructions.

by:

Mounted this on my 2014 Chevy Cruze with RS package. Fits perfect! Tucks in close to rear fascia and is hard to notice unless your kneeling or at a distance. Fast shipping from a Great seller!

by:

It took me longer to find my torque wrench than it did to install it. Lol
And the video is incredibly helpful

by:

Fairly easy to install. Works great. Barely noticeable, when not in use. Doesn't interfere with clearance. Made in USA & reasonably priced. I highly recomme

by:

Quick shipping and well packaged. Great instructions with awesome video available online. Installed in 10 minutes!

by:

This is the second Curt I have installed on a Cruze. It is a well made product. Installation on my 2012 Cruze ECO was easy and took less than an hour.
As always the service from etrailer was great! Why even look anywhere else!

by:

Hitch looks like decent construction for a class one bolted on perfect. If your car doesnt have the exhaust heat shield it literally takes less than 5 minutes to put the bolts in and torque of them to spec, if you have the tools. Good buy made in the USA and will haul my bikes. Paid extra for the 3 day shipping for the hitch and my new bike rack both shipped out promptly that day 3 days later it was here.

by:

It is a nice trailer hitch and with the video that you have with the model very simple to install

  • Comparing Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 11282 to # 11371 for 2014 Chevy Cruze Fit
The Curt # C11282 for gas models of the Chevy Cruze and # C11371 for diesel models of the Chevy Cruze are identical in the mounting locations. The difference is in the drop of the # C11371 for diesel models is 5-1/4 inches for exhaust clearance compared to the drop of the # C11282 being 3.88 inches from the mount to the top of the receiver tube according to my contact at Curt. The gas model will give you better ground clearance and will only work on the gas model where the diesel model...

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11282 is confirmed to fit your 2014 Chevrolet Cruze as long as you don't have a diesel engine. If yours is a diesel you'll need # C11371 instead. I checked an online copy of your owner's manual and your Cruze is able to tow a trailer that is 1,000 pounds or less. You should verify with your printed copy to be sure. From the research I found, the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze has a towing capacity of 1,000 lbs. The Curt Hitch, part # C11282, will work for you.
