Will U-Bolts Break Off Installing Curt or etrailer Hitch on 2015 Audi Q5

Im interested in the hitch for my 2015 Q5. Ive read some reviews online regarding the Curt equivalent that says the U-bolts snap off when torqueing. Is this a problem with the U-bolts for either the e57AR or Curt version? Thanks.

Hi Rick; we don't have any reports on our end for the Curt # C13136 or etrailer # e57AR regarding the U-bolts. It sounds to me like some people weren't careful and applied too much torque which is what caused the issue. They probably looked at the torque spec for the 1/2" hardware because they didn't read all of the steps. The U-bolts have their own torque spec which is significantly lower.
