Parts Needed To Flat Tow 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD With Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar

Updated 07/14/2025 | Published 07/10/2025

Question:

I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road. It is 4x4 with automatic transmission, 3.5L V-6, and “push button start”. I was given a Roadmaster Falcon 2 All-terrain towbar. I am currently having a driveline disconnect installed on my truck. What are all the other items including part numbers I will need to purchase and install?

Hello Kirk, thanks for reaching out. You came to the right place. Here are the rest of the parts I recommend for flat towing your 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road:

- Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521196-5

- RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs # RM-643

- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

- Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

That will cover all the main components. You may end up needing a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR if the height difference between the base plate arms and the hitch on your RV is more than 3". I also recommend you get a cover # e76FV and hitch lock # e98881.

Have you flat towed before? Or is this your first time? Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

I have also heard about a fuse bypass switch. Is that for bypassing the steering wheel lock because it’s a “push button start”? Or is that for something else?

@Kirk The fuse bypasses are used on certain vehicles but you do not have to pull any fuses when flat towing a 2019 Tacoma so the fuse bypass would not be needed.
