Question:

Hi I need some help answering some questions I recently went back to a 1500 from a 2500hd the main towing I do is our boat that weighs 8000lbs or so but the problem is very little tongue weight I installed a set of timbrens with a 1.5” gap unloaded and it only goes down 3/4” with the boat on I want to keep my ride as best possible and it’s horrible when I hit a bump with the timbrens I’ve been on the fence about the sumo springs to limit the travel and soften the ride when towing just don’t know what may help in my situation my 2500hd didn’t bounce like the 1500 does when hitting large bumps which I expected and delt with before I now have a 25 Trailboss 1500 thanks any help is appreciated

Hey James, congrats on the new truck. The Timbren's need quite a bit of tongue weight on them to be helpful when towing, so what you're running into isn't too surprising. The only SumoSprings I have for a 2025 Silverado 1500 are item # SS45FR and they are not compatible with the Trailboss model.

I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs item # AL57388. These air bags have a 5,000 lbs capacity and will definitely soften that bouncing issue you're encountering. They are compatible with the Trailboss edition of the 2025 Silverado 1500 and also work with in bed hitches.

I also recommend adding the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System item # AL25980 to your truck. This onboard compressor will allow you to adjust the PSI in your air bags from your phone.

What kind of boat do you have?

Hey James, how did the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs work out for your Trailboss? I'm curious to know if they helped with the bouncing issue, as it could really help others facing similar challenges.
