Replacement Coil Springs for a 2021 Ram 1500

Updated 09/02/2025 | Published 06/21/2025

Question:

I installed Loadlifter 5000 air bags on my 2021 Ram 1500 with very high mileage 195,000 miles, this week, to be able to haul 1000 long distances without squat. I now have a bouncy ride while empty even with minimal pressure. I know the factory rear shocks should be replaced what do you recommend?

Wow! 195,000 miles on a 2021 Ram 1500. That is a whole lot of driving. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs item # AL88375 are not going to function properly with a warn out suspension. I recommend replacing your rear coil springs with the SuperCoils Custom Suspension Coils item # SSC-50. These will take the bounce out of your rear end and get you back to a factory ride height.

How do you rack up so many miles on your truck?

Hey, how did the SuperCoils work out for your Ram? I'm curious because it could help others with similar high mileage trucks.

Hindsight, I think I should not have went with the 5000, while loaded they're good, but empty truck is not so smooth as before. I put the Bilstein shocks on and it substantially dampened bounce but bumps and bridges are still rough
