Is There Curt Hitch that Fits 2016 Audi SQ5

Question:

I just successfully installed this hitch receiver on my 2016 Audi SQ5. I was a bit skeptical of the guidance (that it didn't fit) and decided to take my own measurements and verified that it does in fact should fit perfectly. However, I modified the installation steps in the 2016 Audi Q5 install video in following ways to make it easier on myself: 1. I did not completely remove the bumper fascia as shown in the video because it's slightly different on the SQ5 and after trying for a bit I was worried about breaking the clips with the amount of force it seemed to require. Instead I removed the access panel and the two torx screws holding the fascia, which allowed me to pull it back enough and get access to wiggle the hitch receiver into place. I didn't have a set of extra hands so I created a crude pulley with straps to help hold it up while I wiggled it into place. 2. It will be easier to wiggle in place if you wait to get the hitch receiver in place (slid into the exhaust support bolts) before fishing the u-bolts through the hitch receiver and mounting holes all at once. I didn't do it this way, but in retrospect I would have saved myself a bunch of pain; I accidentally pushed the u-bolt into the bracket a couple times while trying to get the hitch receiver in place and it was painful to fish out again. 3. Rather than completely remove the exhaust support bolts I just loosened them enough to make space to slide the hitch receiver into place. This way I didn't need to support the exhaust system with straps.

Thanks for passing that on Jon! We can say we now know that the Curt hitch part # C13136 does fit the 2025 Audi SQ5. What will you be using the hitch for?

You’re welcome. I think we can say it will fit the 2009-2017 Audi SQ5s (B8); I don’t know about the subsequent generations. And for a start I’ll be using the hitch for a bike rack. At a future date I plan to put in trailer wiring so I can also use it to tow.
