Hello Paul,
Happy to get the right parts to upgrade your suspension on your 2005 Challenger 5th wheel 29rpk.
I do not have a database that supplies me with what is put on what 5th wheel, so you are going to need to double check a couple of measurements. In my research I see that you most likely have (2) 5,200 pound axles (you can confirm this on the axle tag).
- Shackle Strap Kit: MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps # MR46ZR *you will want to make sure your current shackle straps are 2 1/4" from center hole to center hole.
- Equalizer: I attached 2 images of the holes spacing so you can compare it to what you have to choose which one you need. When I look up your camper it is saying you can have either a 33" or 35". 8" hole spacing # MR27ZR, 6 1/2" # MR87ZR.
- Leaf Springs: you will need to measure from eye to eye while unloaded, usually best to jack the frame up to get the weight off, even then your measurement will be longer than what you need most likely as they do stretch over time. If your axles are rated for 5,200 and you get a measurement close to 26" you will need the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 5,200-lb Trailer Axles - 25-1/4" Long # DX45CR.
- U-Bolt Kit: You should never re-use your U-bolts as they too stretch over time, you will need 2 sets (1 per axle) of the CE Smith U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 5.2K to 7K, Round Trailer Axles - 7" Long U-Bolts - Zinc # CE23003
If your measurements are not the same of what I suggested, please let me know what you did get so I can get different part numbers for you. Like I said before, I do not have a database with what is put on what trailer, so this is all based on my research.
Did you ever end up getting the new steps we talked about last time?
