What Hitch will Have More Clearance the Curt or Draw-Tite on My 2024 Kia EV6?

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/04/2025

Question:

2024 Kia EV6. Wondering if the Draw-Tite or Curt will end up being lower to the ground? Both 2” hitches. I do not mind cutting a little more plastic. But would like the hitch to be as high as possible. Thanks!!

Hello Kristian,

We have only completed an installation of the Draw-Tite # DT85GR on a 2022 Kia EV6. Since the frame design has remained the same through the 2024 model, the measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver is approximately 10-1/2".

We have not yet installed the Curt # C96RV on a Kia EV6, so I don’t have a confirmed measurement for that one. However, based on my research and the hitch design, the Draw-Tite # DT85GR appears to sit just slightly higher than the Curt # C96RV.

If you’re planning to do some light towing or use hitch-mounted accessories, you’ll also want the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TK65VR.

What do you plan on using the hitch for?

Hey Kristian, Did you decide to go with the Draw-Tite hitch for your Kia EV6, or are you still considering the Curt option? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you since it could help others make a decision on which hitch to choose.

@KateF I went with the Draw-Tite after all. Worked well. There was a specific "nub" on my Kia that seemed to conflict with the hitch a little bit. Maybe because I have the GT-Line version? No idea. Anyway, it made the install quite a bit more complicated (had to push the bumper out a bit more), but still got it to work eventually.

@KristianW Thanks for letting me know Kristian! This will be useful information for others that have the GT-Line version as well. Sorry it was a pain, but glad you got it to work!
