Hello Charlie,
Congrats on the new 2025 Subaru Outback Premium! What is your new favorite feature?
For your Subaru the hitch that you were looking at, the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # EH34FR is going to be a great fit.
Yes, there is some light trimming of the fascia. Honestly, the hardest part of this install in taking apart the back of your vehicle and putting it back together. You will need to also temporarily lower the exhaust as well. Definitely doable, if I can do it anyone can, just set aside a good amount of time for the install and make sure to bring your patience.
If you wanted a different class 3 hitch that is more cost effective and easier to install, I would go with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # DT73RR.
Both hitches are great, I attached an install video for each hitch for you to check out.
If you needed some wiring for some light towing, or a hitch mounted accessory, you will want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56040. And for a clean looking drill free install, make sure to grab a # 18140, and a # 18144.
What are you looking to use the hitch for? If you are planning on pulling a trailer with brakes, please let me know because you will need some additional parts.

Hey Charlie, How did the installation of the hitch go on your Subaru Outback? I'd love to hear how it worked out for you, as it could give others confidence when installing their own hitches.
