Hey Matthew! Based on what you said I'm assuming this 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not have the factory tow package. To add a 4-way you need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118727. If you want to upgrade it to a 7-way then you will also need the # ETBC7.
Is he planning on towing a trailer with it? If so, in addition the hitch you ordered and wiring you will also need a ball mount. Check out the etrailer Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # e66PR. This has a 2" and 2-5/16" ball with a max rise/drop of 6" so you're covered no matter what you're towing with the GC.

Hey Matthew, did the T-One Wiring Harness and the other parts work out for your brother-in-law's Jeep? I'm asking because your experience could help others looking to set up their Grand Cherokee for towing.
