Replacement Locking Camper Door Latch That Can Be Used on Left and Right Hand Door Openings

Updated 05/28/2025 | Published 05/24/2025

Question:

This lock looks like its designed for a door that is hinged on the right-hand side when looking from inside the camper. Would this work the same for a door that is hinged on the left-hand side, by simply inverting the assembly 180 degrees so that the latch hits the strike plate as needed? I need to replace a broken latch on a 2025 Rockwood 190 OTG Picture of disassembled broken latch attached. The shaft connecting the tumbler to the inside latch sheared that metal piece was a weak link.

Hey Neil thanks for the picture. The Locking Camper Door Latch - Black item # 37211675 can indeed be mounted in a left or right hand opening orientation. This latch fits doors as thick as 1-1/4", and as thin as 1/2".

@NeilD It looks almost identical but I did not get any information out of those part numbers.
