Will Trailer Tongue Hinge Kit Fit a 2" x 5" Trailer Tongue?

Question:

I am looking for a foldable tongue bracket that fits a 2 x 5 steel frame. Is there such a product ?

You can potentially modify the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Kit for 3" x 5" Tongue # FHDPW350300 to work, but you'll need to add material inside the brackets so it can match up with what you're needing. I added this weld-on one because it will hold a lot better if you're adding extra material to it.

Be sure to have an experienced welder either do the install or oversee it. You won't want to see your trailer disappearing behind you on the highway because a casual DIYer wanted to give it a shot.

Aside from the hinge mentioned above, we unfortunately don't have any other kits that will work exactly with a 2" x 5" frame.
