Question:
Is there a jack that is made to be just in front of the body of my travel trailer instead of just behind the hitch in the front where it is really in the way?

We have quite a few that mount to the trailer frame. I really like the Ark Xtreme Off-Road Swivel Trailer Jack w/ 2 Wheels # ORJW350D because it's the most durable jack we have to offer and it has a 770 lb tongue weight rating.
