I recommend replacing your Atwood AC-1511 with the Dometic Penguin II High Capacity RV Air Conditioner with Heat Pump – 15,000 BTU # DMC68ZR. This is a high-performing rooftop unit with a sleek, low-profile design that improves aerodynamics while delivering excellent cooling and heating efficiency. Since Dometic and Atwood use different control systems, your existing thermostat will not work with the Penguin II.
