How to Know if 4.00/4.80-12 Wheel has a 4 on 4" Bolt Pattern

Question:

I have a small trailer with 4.00/4.80-12 Load B 4-lug pattern. The lugs are 2.75 measured at adjacent lugs, center to center. Are all 4-lug patterns the same? I saw a diagram where adjacent lugs are 4

Hey Bart, thanks for reaching out!

For a 4 on 4" bolt pattern you'll actually measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the opposite bolt hole - and you should find it to be 4". The adject lugs on a 4 on 4" bolt pattern will be 2.75-ish inches so I think you're in the right direction.

This means for your application you can use the Taskmaster Kit # TA99QR that comes with a silver mod wheel, or the Taskmaster Kit # TA49QR that comes with a white spoke wheel.

If you find the opposite bolt holes to be a different measurement than 4" please let me know and I'll be more than happy to help you to keep looking into this!

Hey Bart, how did things turn out with measuring the bolt pattern on your trailer? Did the 4 on 4 pattern match up with one of the Taskmaster wheel and tire kits? Your update could make it easier for the next person checking their trailer’s lug spacing.
