Recommended Double-Eye Leaf Spring for 8,000 lbs Axles

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/25/2025

Question:

Good Morning. 2 questions. Im looking to upgrade my leaf springs on travel trailer. I have 7K x 25.5 EMCO eye to eye with equa-flex equalizer. Looking to upgrade to 8K but all I see on your website is 24 7/8. Do you offer a 25.5 or would you go with the 24 7/8? Also Im upgrading to a EOH disk system. Decided on Hydrastar E7K-T9. Its the same as your HSE7K-T1 except it has 9/16 studs. Do you offer this? Thanks for your help.

Hey Richard! How did you measure your current leaf springs to get the 25-1/2" eye to eye measurement? We recommend jacking one side of the trailer up to get the weight off of them before measuring because they stretch out quite a bit over years of use.

The 24-7/8" Long 7-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 8,000-lb Trailer Axles item # EM28AJ will shorten up your suspension if you actually need 25-1/2" leaf springs so I would not recommend using these.

We do not have the Hydrastar E7K-T9 kit for a tandem axle trailer just the triple axle item # HYD54FR, which is of no help to you.

Hey Richard, were you able to recheck the measurement on your leaf springs after lifting the trailer weight off them? Knowing what you found could help others trying to match their suspension length and axle rating.
