Recommended Lift Kit for 8,000 lbs Axles

Updated 05/12/2025 | Published 04/10/2025

Question:

Hello, I have lippert 8K axles in tandem and need to raise the height of the trailer. On certain roads/driveways with a buckle on the ascent/decent, I am dragging the rear end of our 30foot trailer when having to back down an inclined dirt driveway. Does this make sense? Ive bought a 12 dexter riser for another trailer from you and that went well, but cant seem to find one for my bigger trailer.

Hey Josh! If you have 8,000 lbs torsion axles I do not have a lift kit for you. I do have a couple of options for standard axles though.

If your 8,000 lbs axles are mounted above your springs you can use the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit item # K71-385-00. This kit works by moving your axle below your springs and gives you a lift equivalent to your axles thickness. You'll need two sets.

If your axles are already below your leaf springs the only option is the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit item # RR23QX. This kit mounts to your spring hangers and moves the attachment point down 1-1/4" or 2-1/4".

Thank you. This does, and doesn't answer my question at the same time.

@Joshua You're welcome! What kind of axles do you have?

@JerredH It appears I have no remedies as I do indeed have torsion axles.

@Joshua Yeah, that's definitely something I do not have a solution for.
