2024 Volkswagen Golf GTI Trailer Hitch Receiver Fitment

Question:

Hello! I’m thinking about trading cars. I bought, from you, a 2” trailer hitch for my 2019 VW GTi. I’m looking at a 2024 GTi. will the hitch from the ‘19 fit the ‘24. PS: I really appreciate having your expertise on the other end of my trailer hitch experiences.

Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out!

I've got a solution for you, but unfortunately the EcoHitch Stealth # 306-X7375 that you've got on your 2019 GTI won't fit on a 2024 model.

For your application I recommend the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH75SR because it has the same type of removeable 2" hitch receiver you currently have.

What do you plan on using the hitch receiver for?

I’ll just be using the hitch to carry bicycles. A removable hitch isn’t all that necessary. Any other recommendations?

@SteveB For a non-removeable hitch receiver I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24979. This is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver, so you'll want to make sure your bike rack is compatible with it.
