How to Install the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System on a 2018 Ford F-650?
Updated 03/24/2025 | Published 03/17/2025 >
Question:
I ordered tred001 for my f650 and im looking at the instructions and from what I can tell the only place to put the new spring are where the existing helper spring bumps are. So am I removing the stops/bumps for the helper spring and replacing them with the new ones?

Hey Gil! What you're saying sounds correct but I would love to take a look at your current set up if you don't mind emailing me a picture or two to the address you receive this response from. The Timbren item # TRED001 is confirmed to fit your 2018 Ford F-650 and if what you're removing are the factory bump stops that tracks with other Timbren systems.
Timbren's installation instructions are always terribly vague but they don't cover there being an existing helper spring above your F-650's leaf springs. Do you already have an aftermarket helper spring system installed?

No aftermarket suspension. The only place they would fit is on the helper springs and barely. I went ahead removed the helper spring bumps and given the springs have an upward curve at that same angle the springs fit pretty well. I haven't loaded anything super heavy in the the truck but they do seem to be compressing as needed. Squatting was never an issue with the truck but when not loaded it's a back killer. The first thing I did notice was the sway (coming off big curbs) totally gone truck rebounded right away. Ride quality is better not as much as I'd like, but a solid first step. Ty for the response I emailed you before and afters lmk if you don't get them I'll happily resend them.
