When heavy gear or front-mounted equipment starts to weigh down your suspension, these Coil SumoSprings helper springs step in to keep things level. Each insert fits between the coils in your front suspension and adds progressive support—the more weight you carry, the stiffer they become. That means your ride height stays steady and steering response stays consistent even with added front-end load.
Bumps and jolts can wear you down fast, especially when the stock coils are already compressed. The inner core of microcellular polyurethane foam cushions every hit, softening harsh impacts and taking the edge off road shock. You’ll feel less bounce and vibration through the steering wheel while keeping better control over uneven roads.
When you corner or hit the brakes, the last thing you want is a front end that dives or leans. These inserts help reduce body roll by adding firm, even support across both sides of your suspension. With extra stability built into your coil springs, your truck feels more planted and predictable through turns and quick stops.
Made from durable materials that resist oil, UV rays, road salt, and abrasion, these helper springs are built to handle extreme temperatures and constant use. Once installed, there’s no air pressure to check or fittings to maintain—just dependable performance every time you hit the road.
Setup is straightforward—each spring inserts between the individual coils of your front suspension without special tools or extra parts. Once in place, they work quietly in the background, adding comfort and support without changing your factory ride height or requiring ongoing maintenance.

Such an easy add, anyone carrying weight or conversion van should buy asap.
I found myself making 2 big purchases recently for my van conversion and all paths led me to etrailer.com. They have delivered my products on-time, and always follow-up with a real person. 5 star treatment.
Easy to install on a Ram Promaster. Good instructions. Definitely improved ride quality - less sway and more stability.
Good communication. Product arrived on time exactly as described. I've ordered many items from etrailer. Always a good experience! Thanks.
product is good as always and etrailer is superb in assisting customers. 5 stars.......
Etrailer was very fast on delivery. The parts were just what I needed to stabalize my ProMaster van in crosswinds. I am very pleased with Etrailer
Little tough to install, but 100% worth it, so glad i got these and the rears, makes for a wayyy better ride in my 22 2500 promaster
Very easy to install
Took less than a hour to install front and back. Huge difference in the way my class b camper on a Ram Promaster 3500 drives. A must have.
etrailer has been my go to store for high quality for towing my boat with my Promaster, towing my camper with my Nissan Frontier, and for rigging up my RAM 1500 pickup for towing whatever heavy stuff needed towing. If you want something that IS CHEAP go to the jungle website but if you need something GOOD go to etrailer.com. Once it gets to your house to shop spend some time with their how-to videos so you don't waste time trying to install your new whatseythingamabobberdingdong! Trust me, I can computer and I can spel and tipe.
My van conversion rides rougher, but I can move through LA traffic much easier now. Probably should have bought the blue rear springs, not the yellows.
Overall very pleased with the Sumo Springs, it’s a different van, 10 mph faster everywhere I go. Only four stars because they’re too expensive. 350+250
Easy enough to install, BUT, you need a jack that can get your truck or van up pretty high.
This one year review. We have a 2018 Mercedes Metris, it's just a big mini-van, but not a sprinter. The suspension is fairly soft, ok for city driving, but a little soft for 70+. When hauling a trailer we would gently sway, not great, so we got the rear set and it helped quite a bit, we followed with the front set 3 weeks later.
Overall it firmed up the suspension enough to really help without it being too firm. It raised the stance about 1/2" and is relatively easy to install.
Would buy again.
etrailer was very prompt on there order. I have not installed them yet at this point but they appear to be exactly what they described.
Just returned from our first trip after installation of coil spring suspension- front axle and SumoSpring Solo Custom Helper Springs-rear axle. A significant difference is noted in ride as there is less bounce and sway. Cornering is more sure and flattened this noted on many curved mountain and rural roads traveled in Western and Central PA. Turnpike travel was smoother as road tar strips were not as notable given a stiffer ride.
I have traveled over 10,000 miles and feel that Sumo Springs for the front axles have been a great addition to my 2014 Winnebago Trend. I also added the Sumo Springs to the rear and new shocks. The ride and stability is much better with all these improvements. I would recommend all these products
I installed the Sumo Springs , front and back, on my 2022 Promaster van before I started my camper conversion. Sumo springs are alimony a must on a build to reduce sway and assist with the constant load in the back of the van. I purchased them from etrailer because of their outstanding customer service
Install was a breeze, and the ride is a lot better, can’t wait to put some weight in it
Easy to install and greatly increases the stability and ride of our Ram 3500 van

One year later we have nothing but praise for this. Greatly smooths the ride and provides stability during windy conditions. Van made it easily 16,000 miles across the U.S., up the Alaska Highway and Dalton Highway to the Artic Ocean. Highly recommend.

Install went fairly easy once I figured out the best spot to put the jack to lift the van. Really helped to have an oil filter wrench to get the old springs off the back. Took it out for a drive after an much better cornering and much less effect from wind and 18-wheelers. This was on a fairly windy day. No big difference in softness of the ride.

Took the van on a 4000 mile trip and all worked wonderfully especially on the highway in windy conditions.

10 minute install significant improveme nt
As advertised! Our van should have come from the factory with these!
I am working with a 2025 Pleasure Way nature 2.2 class B on the Ford Transit chasis. We were experiencing a very rough ride in our RV. Pleasure Way had already installed the SuperSprings helper springs on the back leaf springs. This RV is rated for 11,000 pounds gross weight. We are currently almost 900 pounds below that weight fully loaded. This is probably as heavy as we ever will be loaded and about as light as we will ever weigh.l
I installed the SSR-121-47 SuperSprings in the back to reduce the jumping and slamming we were experiencing while driving and hitting rough spots, potholes and open joints at bridge junctions on the highway. I had to remove the back dually wheels to have adequate access to remove the original bump stops and install these springs.
Next, I installed the Coil SumoSprings CSS-1195 on the front coil springs per instructions. These were easy to install and we finished installing these coil helper springs in about 25 minutes including the setup time to gather the jacks, jack stands, soapy water, etc..
RESULTS:
My wife and I then took a ride to test the results and Oh My!!! What a difference. The jumping and hard slamming in the back suspension smoothed out and became as docile as our Lexus RX 350 car. I took my brother and nephew on a ride before I ordered the SuperSprings for the front and back and my nephew who sat in the back of my RV said the suspension action almost tossed him off the sofa when hitting small defects in the road.
The van tracked so much better. It had been moving left to right even when there was no wind. It was flat in corners and the steering felt firm, not soft and mushy like before. It was so back that the van would drift to the third land when I changed lanes. My wife is so happy. The cab is so much quieter and it is easier for us to have a conversation now. Before, we had to be facing one another and shout to each other in order to be heard.
I had considered upgrading the front struts and back shocks and adding a steering stabilizer to correct the wandering all over the road. The van was hard to handle in speeds above 60 MPH from new to now, 3,700 miles on the van.
We are very happy. We installed upgraded bump stops on our 2019 Sprinter chasis for our 2021 Dynamax Isata 3 24FW and got similar results.
I strongly recommend these products for the Ford Transit 350 HD to provide a more comfortable, controlled ride and reduce white knuckle driving!

Wow, that sounds like such a difference in so many ways, Connie. I bet being able to have a normal conversation as well as a smooth ride makes the journey between destinations so much more enjoyable. What kind of travel plans do you have for the summer?

I ordered these for my RAM Promaster 3500 because I had heard from fellow owners that they are a worthwhile addition, for increased stability on the road. The instructions are good, and they weren’t too hard to install myself. They are kind of expensive for a couple of rings of dense foam/plastic, but I guess they must be petty heavy duty. I look forward to my next trip to see how they perform.

Ive had these on my van for a year now, and they are working quite well. I find that the ride is very smooth, without any sway, under all conditions - including high wind. I think the effect is subtle, and the rear Sumo Springs probably have the larger effect. But the front ones add that extra level of performance improvement, and Im glad I have them.
Total upgrade in ride and stability. 100% best upgrade to promaster
Installed these sumo spring spacers in our 2023 Promaster/ Roadtrek conversion van three weeks ago and just returned from a two week 2000 mile road trip with my wife. These spring spacers made an unbelievable improvement in general handling and highway speed handling around semi's, on and off ramps stability, cornering at intersections and dealing with crosswind conditions on the road. They were less and a $200 investment and they were great decision. While they were a little hard to insert into the springs, after watching several installation videos and soaping them up good after lifting each corner of the van, I was able to get them inserted in the springs and adjust them on the coil to where I wanted them at mid coil height. Great product!

Glad to hear they made that much of a difference! It's always kind of surprising how much so simple a thing can make such a difference! ^___^ Sounds like quite the road trip as well! Where all did you guys go?
