Features to know about

Stop the Sag and Squat: 6,000-lb Rear Support

When your rear suspension squats under a heavy load, steering and braking can feel off. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 6,000 lbs of support to level and stabilize your vehicle. The hollow rubber springs sit above the rear axle to take on extra weight, helping reduce sag while improving traction and control. You’ll notice more confident handling when towing or hauling without the front end lifting or lights pointing into the sky.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Progressive Rubber Spring Design

Bumps and dips don’t have to knock you around. These Aeon hollow rubber springs act as shock absorbers that take the brunt of rough roads, cushioning your ride while loaded. The convoluted design collapses progressively—soft under light loads and firmer as weight increases—so you get a smooth, comfortable ride without harshness when empty and strong support when it counts.

Timbren rubber spring compressed under load, demonstrating progressive resistance design that stiffens suspension as weight increases.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When a gust of wind or tight corner tries to push you around, each spring works independently to keep your vehicle level. This independent action helps cut down on body roll and sway, making handling more stable during quick maneuvers or off-center loads. It also keeps trailer movement from transferring to your vehicle, so sway settles faster and you stay in control.

Install It Once and Drive with Confidence: Simple Bolt-On Setup

Adding serious suspension support doesn’t have to be complicated. The Timbren system bolts onto each frame rail above the rear axle using custom-fit brackets and hardware—no drilling required. With no air lines, compressors, or gauges to maintain, it’s a straightforward DIY install that gets you back on the road with reliable load-leveling performance for years to come.

Video Transcript for Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System-TFPR001 Spec Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1995 to 2011 Fiat Ducato and a 2014 and newer Dodge ProMaster 2500 and RAM ProMaster 2500 vehicles. Now on a custom fit part I always like to recommend for you to to go our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show you if this part will work for your application. Now this kit will improve the suspension, the handling and safety on your vehicle. Provides additional support as needed, so you always get a nice, smooth, comfortable ride, and it does allow the leaf spring ample movement, cushions any light loads, so it'll ride just as smoothly when you're not hauling a load. Now these do become more rigid as more weight is added so that'll increase stability, gives you great performance when you're hauling heavy loads, and it'll help reduce rear sag. Now these do work independently, side to side so they help compensate for any off-center loads, helps reduce body roll when you have swerve or execute a sharp turn.

They will also act as a shock absorber, taking the brunt of any bumps and rough roads, so it helps extend the life of your suspension. This part will include everything shown here on the table. Two aeon hollow rubber springs, the mounting brackets, and the mounting hardware for a nice, simple installation, and a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how to install everything. Now these are designed to replace your axle bump stops on your frame. There's no drilling required. Specs on this is 8,600 pounds, but you do want to make sure not to exceed your vehicle's weight carrying capacity.

These are designed to work with a suspension system that is in good working order. That should do it for the review on the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System.

I've had these on our tow rig for a year now and I added buy them again today if I needed them.these have worked much better than airbags for our coil spring rear suspension to handle the tongue weight of our trailer. The SUV sits level when the trailer is on and it handles bumps and sway better than the airbags did providing much more comfort to us in the vehicle. Unloaded, we don't really notice they are there, unless, we have all the kids and some friends loaded up and you will fell them work when going over bumps.i do all my maintenance on the vehicle's and inspect these regularly and I cant see any wear so far even though we've gone on 6 trips with our trailer with about 5000 miles doing so.
I cant say these are the best for every truck or SUV, but for ours it is the best and I definitely would recommend to others.

Order came fast and right. E-Trailer gets it the first time !!
Installed fit perfect

by:

Well they are exactly what I thought it would be. Hard for me to say it's what I needed yet.
I installed them on a homemade trailer from a salvaged 2001 base model tacoma. Once I get finished building it out and have some weight in it I'll have a better idea. But from what I've seen so far on a couple test drives they should come into effect when needed.
For reference I building an Tacoma based trailer with an ARE Contractor topper with a Naturnest roof top tent on the very top. So to counter and sway these should be very helpful. At least I hope so. I'm not an engineer but I did stay at an Holliday Inn once.

The Timbren SES is a simple solution for rear squat when towing. When hitched to my 30' Airstream Globetrotter (8800 GVWR) with a tongue weight around 1200 lbs, my Silverado 2500HD had a bit more squat than is ideal. I shopped airbags but didn't want to spend ~$2K for the set up and didn't want the hassle of installation and forever chasing air leaks. The Timbren SES literally installs on the Silverado in about 15 minutes. So simple. No bags, no compressor, no wiring, no air lines, no leaks. And WAY less expensive to boot. Just returned form a 600+ mile trip and it towed flawlessly.

by:

A very simple and straightforward installation once you get the oem bumper stops off (had a shop do that)
Timbren worked with me as I had a non OEM frame height (vehicle was lower than stock) to recommend the proper kit. Highly recommend contacting timbren if you are unsure of the proper kit to use. Ride is more stable. It does feel stiffer and less bouncy but am looking forward to seeing how it performs with my truck camper. Truck is a 1998 dodge ram 2500. Brake line over left side of axle needed to be secured to prevent damage.

by:

The Timbren overload spring/bumper was east to install and did what it was supposed to do when I hitched up a camp trailer. These did not negatively affect the ride by any means and I don't have to worry about the troubles with air bags.

by:

Stiffens and corrects kneel in rear end of 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. You will notice a stiffening of the rear end suspension while unloaded, but it’s a fair trade off to prevent sagging and porpoising while towing. I found it easier to pull the rear wheels and work from the side than underneath the vehicle while installing.

by:

The timbres bump stop is exactly the right height to meet the axel when the trailer is connected with all its weight onto the hitch. I have an Andersen weight distribution hitch and it levels out perfectly. The day picture is with the coach (Winn 2100bh) with factory equipment. The night picture is after the timbres are in place. Looks good.

It has been almost a year since I installed Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems (DVF350 and DVR350R) on the front and rear of my 2003 Dodge RAM Van 3500. These bumpers replaced the OEM bump stops that were on my van. I like the Timbren bumpers much better than the OEM bump stops because they provide a progressively cushioned response for suspension compression when traveling over significant humps like speed bumps in a parking lot, or curb ramps into driveways. I did not like the abrupt stop the OEM bump stops provided when traveling over the same objects. I installed the Timbren rear bumpers first, and after a few months of use, I decided to add them to the front. In both cases, the front and rear Timbren bumpers were easy to install once the OEM bump stops were removed. Installation required reuse of the factory hardware. On my van, the Timbren bumpers are not always engaged. Under normal load and travel conditions the bumpers are relaxed and about 1/2” away from the suspension landing points. However, their presence is much appreciated and very noticeable when the van is carrying heavy loads or handling significant humps.

2022 F250 Super Duty. Super easy to install. I have about 3/4" gap between the spring and the plate. Time will tell how they impact the ride quality and how much sag they mitigate with my 5th wheel hooked up.

by:

Great upgrade when pulling our 6500lb travel trailer. Helps with sag and control on the road on our Ram 1500. Change the stock shocks and if you choose, upgrade your stock springs, and you'll get the most out of your half ton.

by:

Absolutely Pleased with the TIMBRENS. They were easy to install, and took less than an hour to install both. I noticed a slight stiffness in the ride as the rear bounced over a bad roadway. Towing is great, with a nice level and smooth ride. I am glad that I did not order the heavier duty Timbrens, than what was recomended for my truck. I believe the ride would have been too stiff. If you look at the photos showing the timbrens, the truck is still lifted in the rear, so what you see is a big gap between the rubber, and the steal plate. When the truck is lowered, there's 1" of space as it should be. BTW, I have been purchasing from etrailer for years now, and I have to say that I have never had any issues with any orders. They are my go to folks for all of my vehicle suppension stuff and trailer stuff. You can't go wrong with buying from them.

by:

Easy install took about 20 minutes on my 2017 Ram 3500 SRW. Had about 1/2 inch clearance as recommended. Loaded up my 5th wheel (2350 hitch weight) and about 200 lbs of gear in the bed. Just got back from a 800 mile camping trip through mountains of TN. You can really feel the difference around those sharp corners and uneven surfaces. The truck felt firm and controlled not hard and jarring as some have mentioned. Going over those overpasses with the wonderfully smooth (Not) joists was greatly improved. The truck would squat and rebound again, with a firm controlled response. Driving without a load felt the same as before without them. I would highly recommend these! Ordering from etrailer continues to be my go to option!

Have been recommending for years. Good quality product.

I have had the Timbrens on my 2016 Promaster Van (2017 Winnebago Travato) for a year now. They have made an incredible difference in the ride quality. No more swaying in the wind! It also raised the rear end of the van one inch - every little bit helps on a van converted into a motorhome. I highly recommend these to any Promaster owner. They are definitely money well spent!

Its still an awesome product. I am in a Facebook group for other RAM Promaster motorhome owners and I recommend the Timbrens all the time.

Fitment for Ram Promaster 3500 Thor Sequence 20k motorhome:
A suspension enhancement that should be installed on every Promaster 3500 camper conversion. Straight from Thor's factory, these campers wallow in wind and when semis blow by; scaring the daylights out of you.
Timbren's upgrade is easy to install and results in about an additional 1/2-3/4" clearance. Improvements in handling are immediately noticeable. Even driving around town. Rounding hard curves on the interstate used to be dreadful. Now I drive into them with confidence.
STILL, handling needs additional help. Helper springs will be my next purchase. Unfortunately, etrailer does not carry Hellwig EZ-990 HELPER SPRING KIT (part #9665) . It's design addresses some of the complaints voiced by buyers of etrailers option.
Additionally, I considered replacing the OEM NEXEN tires with ones with a higher load rating. Thinking they contributed to handling issues. BUT, after installation of Timbren's upgrade; it was clear that is not necessary. Timbren's product is ridiculously priced for what it is. Though the handling improvements alone are well worth it. Perhaps one day these will be stock on all Ram Promasters.

Thank you for your review! While dont carry the part you mentioned, we do carry the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit as an alternative. I attached a link to the part.

The Timbren Rear Suspension Upgrade has worked quite well in the year since it was purchased. I also added Hellwiggs helper spring kit and changed tires to Michelin Agilis Cross Climate. One can drive the Ram Promaster 3500 camper fully loaded with complete confidence, now.

Very good product helps to improve rear suspension on Ram Promaster

Easy DIY project, not really feeling that my difference though.

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendations for 2017 Winnebago Trend
I recommend starting with one of the two types of suspension enhance that you mentioned for your motorhome. Sometimes two suspension enhancement systems can work against each other and almost feel like it makes these issues worse. For your 2017 Trend I recommend starting with the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFPR001 because they will help stop the body roll of your motor home as well as help prevent sagging at the back of your motorhome.
