Hey Sandy! That's a great question, and the answer is that the GE Appliances RV Refrigerator with Top Freezer - 9.8 Cu. Ft. - 12V - Black - Right Opening Door # GE26FR runs on 12V DC. The majority of RV fridges now run on 12V which is better in my opinion due to the versatility meaning it can be powered by Battery bank, Solar, or shore power when using a converter.

One thing to keep in mind is that you need to have certain wire gauge depending on the length of the wire. This is what GE says in the manual:
15 feet or less = 12 Gauge Wire
35 feet or less = 10 Gauge Wire
50 feet or less = 8 Gauge Wire
