Lift Kit Solution for 2,000 lb Trailer Axle

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/10/2025

Question:

Hello, I have an old trailer. It had a weld in spindle and that broke at the weld that rusted. I added a 2000lb new full axel but even with the axel on the bottom there is only 10 inches of clearance from the center of the hub to the deck-over. Id like to have about 4 more inches atleast. Im looking at this axel flip over under kit but weld on the axel seats once level. And maybe longer shackle spring mounts that attach to the trailer frame but hang down more so the springs attach down further from the frame like 6 or 8 inches long instead of 2 inches unless you have a better idea. Can you send me a link for long hanger brackets please as well Thanks

Hey Josh, if you have 2k axles the over under kit part # K71-384-00 would not work as this was designed for a larger diameter trailer axle. But we can help. To create a kit for that axle diameter size you'd need the part # APUBR-10 for the u-bolts and then part # TR22175 for the spring seat.
Then to add an additional 1-1/4 inch of lift you'd need the Correct Track part # LC87120.

That should put you right at the 4 inches of lift. I would not recommend trying to go with longer shackles as a way to gain the additional lift.

Hey Josh, how did the setup go with the U-bolt kit and Correct Track lift kit for your trailer axle? Did the combination get you the extra clearance you were after? Your update could make it easier for others working on older trailers.
