Question:
Good Morning! I have a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 3.0 diesel and I wanted to equip this to flat tow as simply as possible but I have a few questions: 1. I see that earlier Sierras have a dedicated wiring harness for the lights, do you know if that will work for the 2025? 2. I have a Stay In Play Duo in my Grand Cherokee that I bought from you about 4 years ago and would like to transfer to this- do I need any specific one time use parts or anything like that? 3. Are there any base plates that allow for the factory tow hooks to stay in place? Alternatively, does anyone make tow hooks which mount to the base plates for when Im not flat towing? Thanks!

Hey Chris, thanks for reaching out - those are great questions!
You will need a dedicated wiring harness for flat towing your 2025 GMC Sierra 1500, yes. I really like the Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-15267 because of how reliable it is, but if you don't already have a tow bar then I recommend pairing the Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar # RM-676 with the Accessory Kit # RM-9284-2. You'll also need to disconnect your battery for flat towing so adding the Battery Disconnect Kit # RM93MR for each start battery will make that easier.
To reuse your Stay-IN-Play Duo kit you just need the Reinstall Kit # SM6270 which comes with the parts that you can't simply remove from your Jeep.
Your 2025 GMC Sierra with the 3.0 Diesel should be a 4WD model so if that's the case, I recommend going with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523198-5. These have a really simple connection process and I've been really impressed with how well they work. Unfortunately, there aren't any base plate kites that will let you keep your factory tow hooks in place.
Please let me know if you have any other questions! I'd love to help you make sure you can get your truck to your campsites with you!

Hey Chris, how did things go getting your Sierra 1500 set up with the Roadmaster base plate and wiring kit? I’m curious if the reinstall kit made it easy to move your Stay-IN-Play Duo over from the Jeep. Your update could make it easier for others setting up a similar flat tow.
