Is there a Driver Side Light for the Optronics LED RV Tail Light # OPT54KB?

Updated 03/25/2025 | Published 03/07/2025

Question:

For item Optronics LED RV Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Oblong - Passenger Side, my assumption is that this item is Passenger or Driver side generic, with no driver side difference.. I looked for PN OPT54KA with no joy.

Hello Mark,

The missing mate to the Optronics LED RV Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Oblong - Passenger Side # OPT54KB is the Optronics LED RV Tail Light and License Bracket - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Oblong - Driver Side # OPT34KB. The only real difference I see between the 2 is that the Driver side comes with the license plat mounting bracket.

Are you building a trailer, or replacing the light on a trailer you already have?

Hey ya Kate, Thanks for the reply and pointing out that the missing mate to the Optronics LED RV Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Oblong - Passenger Side # OPT54KB is the Optronics LED RV Tail Light and License Bracket - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Oblong - Driver Side # OPT34KB. These tail lights may very well be the lights I am looking for. Not building a trailer but searching for a replacement to the tail lights (old incandesent 1157s) on my 2019 Keystone Montana 3120RL. I would like to go with LEDs and match as closely as possible to existing mounting screw holes. Any suggestions you/eTrailer have, would be greatly appreciated.

@Mark Hey Mark, Have you considered just swapping out the bulb? We have some LED options that are direct replacements. You could go with the 1034/1157/1157L LED Bulbs # DI52VR, or if your tail light has a red lens, the red LED version # ARC63FR would be a better fit. If you're looking to replace the entire setup, I’d be happy to help find something that closely matches your existing mounting holes. However, we don’t have a database that specifies which lights are installed on campers, so if you could measure your current mounting holes and send me the details, I’ll do my best to find a good match for you!

@KateF thanks again for the build suggestion. I currently have the #DI52VR type bulb installed and it just does not seem daytime bright enough. Hence the desire to change out the entire taillight assembly. In my taillight assembly there are 2 bulbs, 1 for the 3 way (running/turn/brake and 1 for reverse. Both have been replaced with LEDs. Although, the reverse bulb is really there for athetetics more than being a functional backup light. It is a Sylvania 'Y' LED bulb that really adds to those athletics, For this project, I would think that the Optronics LED RV Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Oblong - Passenger Side # OPT54KB and Driver Side # OPT34KB would or could be the best fit. As for the mounting holes matching, that's just a gamble or risk one takes. Filling old mounting holes is not that big of a deal. I will, however take you up on the offer to look for a better match. The taillight is your basic Optronis rectangular 2 bulb (1156 & 2057) taillight housing with 4 holes for mounting screws. From top left hole to top right hole approx 7". From Top left to lower left approx 3" measured on center. Thanks again Kate.

@Mark Hey Mark, I think getting the Optronics LED RV Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Oblong - Passenger Side # OPT54KB and Driver Side # OPT34KB is going to be your best bet, unfortunately you are going to need to make some new holes. I just went down the rabbit hole with our lights and we do not have anything that is going to rectangle mounting holes 7" across and 3" up and down, or anything that even comes close. It would be nice if they could just come up with some kind of standard for mounting holes on lights so they are easy to change out, but they like to change things a lot.
