Where to Trim 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 to Install Trailer Hitch

Question:

Fascia trimming to install the hitch on the 2025 I5 is not necessarily a bad thing unless you are leasing! It could make the hitch receiver less noticeable. Any idea how much trimming is required and are there any photos or screen shots available showing the hitch installed on a 2025 I5?

Hey Bruce, we have the Draw Tite hitch part # DT27YR that fits your 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 which I attached a picture from the install instructions that covers where to trim. Since the back of the vehicle is all covered up there's no real way to make a hitch that doesn't require some trimming.

Hey Bruce, how did the fascia trimming go with the Draw-Tite hitch on your Ioniq 5? It’d be great to hear if the trim lines from the instructions matched up well. Your update could make it easier for others working on the same setup.

I installed the EcoHitch…not the Draw-Tite hitch on my 2025 Ioniq 5. The facia trim recommended by the hitch manufacturer worked but it slightly compressed the underside of the body shroud. If I had it to do over again, I would probably cut the notch about an additional 1” deep which would likely result in an extra 1/8-1/4” of space for the hitch receiver.
