Base Plate Kit for 2003 Honda CR-V With Roadmaster Stowmaster Tow Bar

Updated 02/18/2025 | Published 02/11/2025

Question:

Hello, Im a bit confused. I need a base plate for a 2003 CRV. I have access to a Stowmaster 5000 tow bar, the kind that folds up, and stays on the CRV. So the base plate will need to work for that tow bar. Can you please instruct me to the correct base plate?

Hey Todd! Since you have the Roadmaster StowMaster you will need a Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit. You can choose from the following:

-Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 1541-1 (If you DO NOT have a brush guard)

-Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 1541-3 (If you DO have a brush guard)

Do you have the rest of the parts you need to flat tow your 2003 Honda CR-V? If not, I recommend the following:

-Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes # SM99251

-Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

Hi Robin, I cannot buy the stay-n-play at this time. So with that said, is the base plate and the RM-15267 wiring kit all that I will need at this time? All of the different wire kits are quite confusing. BTW I am towing the 2003 CRV with a 2012 Sprinter van.

@ToddV if you aren't using a brake system then yes, the # RM-15267 along with the base plate kit covers the rest.
