Which Trailer Wiring Option for 2009 Saturn Outlook

I am comparing product # 118434,with converter, and # C56025 no converter for my 2009 Saturn Outlook. Just what is a converter and do I need one? I dont see any factory wiring harness tied to my car frame like my owners book says. Thanks!

I've provided a photo of the harness that might be under the vehicle. It's usually found above or next to the spare tire, and will have a plug in the end of it to keep out road debris. The plug might not be present on vehicles not equipped with the tow package. If you find the plug part # 118384 would be an easy way to install a 4-pole trailer connector. The Hopkins # HM40975 would provide both a 7-way and a 4-pole.
If the plug isn't present, either the # 118434 or the # C56025 T-One connectors would work great for you. Neither part uses a converter, because your Outlook has what's called a combined lighting system. A combined system uses the same taillight bulb for the turn signal and brake light, which is the same type of system the vast majority of trailers use. A separate system uses a separate amber bulb or lens for the turn signal. So, if your Outlook had a separate lighting system, you'd need a converter to combine the right turn and brake lamp circuits onto one wire and the left turn and brake lamp onto another wire.
The T-One connectors would install as shown in the video I have linked.
