Lift Kit Needed For A 2017 Winnebago Winnie Drop 1780 Travel Trailer

Updated 06/19/2025 | Published 01/29/2025

Question:

I would like to know if you have an axle lifting kit for a Winnie 2017 model 1780 trailer. It is a simple torsion axle. Thank you

Hi Christian,

Most like your Winnie has a #10 Torflex axle and could use the Torflex Lift Kit - Single Axle - 2-5/8" Lift # K71-707-01, but we'd really want to confirm with your axle's serial number first. If you can get under the trailer and look for the serial number on the axle tag sticker I'd be happy to check.

@Christian That serial number comes back to a Lippert 3,500lb torsion axle. Lippert unfortunately no longer offers a compatible lift kit so you would be looking at either having a fabrication shop custom-make a spacer to lift the trailer body further from the axle or replace the axle with a Dexter #10 Torflex axle in order to use the # K71-707-01. Let me know what you think?

@Christian we had to replace our axle. We’ve owned our Drop for two seasons but we noticed the wheels cambered out. We elected to replace the axle with a heavier duty 4500 pound axle. Cost about $1400 with the labor. It lifted the camper about 6 inches so that took care of the fact that it rode too low. We used a local guy who works on trailers and RVs.
