How to Install Strap of B&B Replacement Twist-On Cap for Gravity Water Inlet on RV
Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/19/2025 >
Question:
I bought the Replacement Twist-On Cap with Strap for BandB Gravity Fill Dish or Hatch - Polar White Part Number: BM29MR because it matches exactly whats on my trailer I only wanted to replace the strap as the old one had become brittle and broke, but I thought it best to replace the complete cap and strap. My question: Is there a simple or recommended way to the end of the strap into the existing gravity fill dish? I have attached a photo for reference. Thanks

Hey Vito, thanks for reaching out!
It looks like you'll need to drill out your gravity will flange a little bit in order to get the plug part of the Replacement Twist-On Cap with Strap # BM29MR installed. Be sure to keep the hole slightly smaller than the plug so it fits in snug and doesn't pop out during travel.
Let me know how it goes!

Hey Vito, how did things turn out after drilling the flange for the new twist-on cap and strap? Did the plug fit snugly into your gravity fill dish? Your update could make it easier for others replacing the same part.
