Tire Chains Needed For A 2017 Ram ProMaster 2500 RV

Updated 01/13/2025 | Published 01/12/2025

Question:

Looking to put an in case of emergency set of chains in a Promaster 2500 RV. Seems smart to go with this set both on and off road capable. My van is front wheel drive does one set of chains, installed in the front, address both drive-traction and steering-traction issues? Any need for a pair on the rear wheels?

Hey Bruno,

What's your tire size? I'd prefer to confirm if the Konig Commercial Truck Tire Chains # TH01571245 is compatible. The owner's manual for a 2017 Ram ProMaster 2500 states to only use tire chains on the front axle only. Since this is also the drive axle it makes more sense to have the chains here to grip the ice/snow on the road. This kit includes two sets of chains to cover both wheels of the front axle.

Thanks Kevin. Tire size is LT225/75R16. Are you saying the chains do NOT come as a pair? Or are you saying that I would need one pair for the front wheels, and another pair for the rear wheels? Best, Bruno

@Bruno Ok, perfect, that tire size is a compatible fit. My eyes apparently aren't working this morning because I read that title as 1 wheel instead of 1 pair so just one of the # TH01571245 would cover both wheels. I'll adjust the answer above to reflect that.
