If you run high-pressure trailer tires, this wheel can take them. It’s rated to handle the maximum PSI of any 16" trailer tire—your pressure limit comes down to the valve stem you choose. Pair it with Americana Metal Bolt-In Valve Stem # AM20906 for ratings over 100 PSI and dependable sealing under heavy use.
Every spec here points to reliability—16" diameter, 6" width, 5/8" stud diameter, and DOT compliance right out of the box. The wheel can be installed as a positive or negative 5.35" offset, giving flexibility in how it’s positioned in your setup while maintaining full structural integrity and performance standards.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this 16 inch by 6 inch silver dual steel wheel with the 8-on-6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. It has the 4.77 inch hub pilot and an offset of either plus or minus 5.35 inches. Now, this wheel is a dual wheel. It can be used as either an inner wheel, like it is pictured now, or if you swing it around this way, it can be used as an outer wheel on your dually truck or trailer. Now, depending on which way it's installed, it'll have either a 5.35 inch positive offset, which will be this way for an inner wheel, or if we turn around for an outer wheel, a 5.35 negative offset.
And when we mention offset, the offset is measured from your mounting surface, either this mounting surface or this mounting surface depending on how it's used, to the center line. So the center line to that mounting surface is gonna measure either a positive or a negative 5.35 inches. Now, this wheel is a sturdy steel construction. As you can see, it is the four handhold design. Has a nice silver powder coat finish over an E-coat primer with excellent corrosion resistance, and this is a high-quality wheel, so it meets the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications.
Now, we talked about the hub pilot, which is this large hole right here. The hub pilot design has this pilot hole that'll center exactly on your axle hub. It won't center off the lug nuts, it'll center on the hub, so it has to be an exact measurement. In this case, this measurement pilot hole diameter is 4.77 inches. And because it centers on the hub, the holes here, they're not chamfered, they're just drilled out hole with no chamfer to it.
And because of that, that means you'll use 5/8 inch by 18 size flange nuts, which we also sell separately if you need them. They go by part number of 95188. Few specs on this, we're gonna measure the diameter. On this wheel, we said it's 16 inches, and that's always measured inside to inside. So you can see if we take our tape measure and if we go straight across, you can see there's your 16 inch diameter.
The width will be the same way. It's measured inside to inside or bead seat to bead seat. There's your six inch width. And the bolt pattern we talked about is an 8-on-6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. You can see the eight holes and it's a 6-1/2 inch. So if you wanna measure the bolt pattern on a wheel like this, because it's an even number of lugs, it's pretty easy 'cause the lug holes you can see are directly across from each other. So when you go to measure it, just pick any hole measure from the center of that hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it. On this, it would measure 6-1/2 inches, so that means it's an eight lug 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. The offset we already talked about is plus or minus 5.35 inches, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 3,860 pounds. But that should do it for the review on this 16 inch by six inch silver dual steel wheel with the 8-on-6-1/2 inch bolt pattern.

Rims arrived in timely manner and in great shape.
Needed a spare tire carrier and spare tire for our Class C RV. The rear bumper hitch and tire carrier fit the bill nicely. It was a cinch to install. All I lack is the tire and I have an appointment with Discount Tire to buy and mount the spare.
Our last trip we picked a nail in the sidewall of one of our tires. We were fortunate to make it to a Discount Tire in Jacksonville and they quickly got us back on the road.
The only downside was that the trailer hitch was out of stock for several months, but etrailer let us know when it was in. When we checked the shipping status it said our payment pre approval had expired (since we had placed the order several months prior). No big deal but if we had not looked we could still be waiting.
